Paint Correction

Glass-Clear Clearcoat.

Measured, multi-stage machine polishing — swirls removed, depth restored, paint depth respected.

Stages

Correction Levels.

The right correction level depends on your paint's condition, your goals and how much clearcoat remains. We measure first, then recommend.

Stage 1
6–8 hrs
Removes 60–70% of defects

Enhancement Polish

One-step polish using medium-cut pad to refine swirl marks, light hazing and minor water etching. Restores depth and clarity on daily drivers.

Stage 2
12–16 hrs
Removes 85–90% of defects

Cut & Polish

Compound stage removes deeper scratches and oxidation, followed by a finishing polish to restore high-gloss clarity. The sweet-spot for most owners.

Stage 3
24–30 hrs
Removes 95%+ of defects

Full Concours Correction

Test panel measurements, heavy compound, medium polish, then finishing polish. Reserved for exotic, show or concours vehicles needing flawless paint.

Honest Limits

Where Correction Stops.

  • Deep scratches that have penetrated through the clearcoat cannot be polished out — they require touch-up or repaint.
  • We will not 'just buff harder' if the paint depth gauge says we're close to the safety limit. Clearcoat is a finite resource.
  • Correction is the foundation under ceramic coating or PPF — never seal in swirls. Every WPEG coating job includes at least Stage 1.
Correction FAQ

Polishing Questions.

How long does paint correction last?

Forever — until you re-introduce the defects with poor washing. Sealing the corrected paint with a ceramic coating preserves the work for years.

Will you wet-sand my paint?

Only on test panels with overspray, orange peel reduction projects or after consultation. We do not wet-sand healthy clearcoat without a documented need.

Can you correct matte or satin paint?

No — matte and satin finishes can't be polished without altering their finish. We handle matte paint with decontamination, sealants and dedicated matte-safe coatings instead.

Is correction needed before ceramic coating?

Yes — at minimum a one-stage enhancement. Coating locks in whatever is under it. Every WPEG ceramic job includes correction sized to your paint condition.
